ClearML Enterprise v3.28: Usage Metering, Policy Enhancements, and Smarter Admin Controls

February 10, 2026

Author: Adam Wolf

ClearML Enterprise v3.28 offers new features and improvements to help administrators monitor usage, enforce policies, and streamline operations across large, multi-team environments. This release introduces enhanced usage metering with a simplified interface, improved resource policy management, improved dataset controls, and UI enhancements to provide greater clarity, control, and productivity for AI teams.

Track Usage and Costs with the New Event Metering Service

Understanding compute and platform usage is essential for issuing invoices or chargebacks, budgeting, and efficiency. In v3.28, ClearML introduces an admin-level Event Metering service that allows deployment owners to collect aggregate usage data. Administrators can define custom tracked events and assign costs, enabling detailed analytics on consumption and resource economics.

The dedicated admin analytics page surfaces usage trends that allow administrators to evaluate how resource policy updates or capacity changes influence compute consumption using data that ClearML already collects by default.

Stronger Governance with Enhanced Resource Policies

Resource policies govern compute allocation across teams and workloads. This release gives administrators greater flexibility in policy management:

  • View active tasks directly on the Resource Policy page, allowing administrators to correlate policy definitions with real-time activity
  • Reassign resource policies to a different user group without needing to recreate them

These enhancements improve visibility and reduce administrative overhead.

Central App Gateway Token Management

Security and access control remain priorities for enterprise deployments. ClearML v3.28 adds a new centralized settings page for admins to manage App Gateway access tokens, simplifying the review and revocation of tokens for remote session and application access.

This unified token management interface reduces administrative effort and improves insight and governance throughout distributed access points.

Improved Hyper-Dataset and Data UI Capabilities

ClearML Enterprise v3.28 introduces several enhancements to make dataset management more intuitive:

  • Specify a dataset’s project at creation time for clearer ownership and organization
  • Move existing Hyper-Datasets between projects after creation
  • Customize the default naming format for Hyper-Dataset versions
  • Clone tasks with options to reset dataviews and Python requirements, giving teams cleaner baselines for experimentation

These improvements help teams keep organized and preserve clarity as projects and data evolve.

UI Quality-of-Life and Productivity Enhancements

ClearML Enterprise v3.28 introduces user experience refinements across the platform to simplify daily operations:

  • Task comparison views now show task color indicators directly in the list
  • UI Task Scalars and Plots gain show/hide matching filter controls
  • Queue data now loads faster in the Orchestration UI, enabling teams to assess work distribution more quickly
  • Hyperlinks in the Task Execution tab make repository URLs clickable for rapid access
  • Support for short project names, with fewer than three characters, adds flexibility for organizational naming conventions

How to Get Started

  • Visit the new Admin Analytics page to review usage and costs.
  • Evaluate and modify resource policies to align with changing team needs.
  • Use the App Gateway settings page to manage and audit tokens.
  • Use the updated dataset and task cloning features to improve workflow quality.
